Dear Lord, hear our prayers. Jesus, my Lord to whom I came last night for the sacrament of Confession. Since then I know that you know there were things left out. I have continued to smoke and abuse this body you gave me out of my attitude of defiance and refusal really to accept your love. In Psalm 139 I have reread it today and let you open my heart to its truths. God didn’t create junk, when He made me of his love. I am so sorry for not acknowledging this with thanksgiving and accepting your perfect love I cannot live without. I thank you for being the hound dog of heaven and tracking me-watching over me-and not giving up on me until I would listen and HEAR. Last night as I was at the hospital gasping for breath, I thank you for being there and making yourself visible to me in the staff giving medical care and saying I needed to get back to you in the Sacrament where I had only told Father half the truth. I pray for your mercy and forgiveness, and pray also for others who might be living in the same way as I and I pray for them to come to your love and mercy so they too can begin anew in truth and be rid of their bagagge that makes space between you and them. I ask this in your name our precious Savior! Amen.
