Most fundamentalist teach their belief in the rapture, where those who are to be saved are taken silently up to the heavens to be with Christ before the great tribulation. This teaching is based on a bad interpretation of St. Paul.

  1. Thanks for your apologetics. Its nice to hear the truth proclaimed and refutation to poor theology. I hope that many Catholics, especially those who are weak in their faith may watch these short videos and actually read sacred scripture and learn about the fullness of our faith.

  2. The ‘Rapture’ was not taught until the nineteenth century because we didn’t even have a Bible until the nearly the sixteenth century.
There are actually many passages of Scripture that would support a sort of “Rapture”. Consider this one:
[“Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”]

  3. @Henry, the Bible was put together, books choosen from hundreds of writings in the 3-4 century. It was given the name Bible, which means collection of books by the Catholic Church. Yes the same Bible you have minus the 6 books from the old testament that Martin Luther took out during the reformation

  4. @ Henry:
The passage which you quoted, “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.” What will the one taken be “taken” by? Blessed are the one’s found working in God’s vinyard (the field) when the Master returns.

  5. Those verses quoted don’t sound like the 2nd coming will be any “secret.” If anyone wants to see a real bad movie about the Rapture, check out “A Thief In The Night” produced by an Iowa company in the early 1970s. It presents the typical evangelical ideas about the 2nd coming.

  6. I used to go to a Pentacostal Church where the pastor once joked that Episcopals, Lutherans, and Catholics would be taken first since the bible said “The DEAD in Christ shall arise first!”
