I had the honor of accompanying about 50 young people and some adults this past August in Spain. We traveled the “Way” and then went to Madrid for World Youth Day. The unbridled truth of the entire trip is this, on my ONE hand I couldn’t COUNT that many Spaniards who were civil, welcoming or not cynical towards WYD or the young Perigrinos that traveled the way. Sadly it is quite a mediocre “modern” country, in great need of it’s spiritual Catholic sensibility.
Wonderful. As soon as I perceive you speaking, Fr. Being Catholic fills my heart with joy and the peace that transcends all understanding resides in Christ Jesus.
