According to Catholic Answers: “Sacred scripture, sacred tradition, and the teaching of the magisterium are unanimous: Jesus Christ was, and still is, sinless.”

“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” – 1 Peter 2:22

According to CNN News Anchor Don Lemon however, this basic tenet of Catholicism is incorrect. His revelation came in a discussion with fellow host Chris Cuomo (himself a self-proclaimed Catholic).

“Here’s the thing: Jesus Christ — if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ — admittedly was not perfect when he was here on this earth.”

Watch below:

His discussion on Monday night with Cuomo was on the removal of public monuments and the supposed shortcomings of the Founding Fathers of the US. Lemon sought to compare Jesus with the Founding Fathers, saying we shouldn’t “deify” former presidents like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson because – according to him – even Jesus was “not perfect” while he was human, and thus they aren’t as well.

“So why are we deifying the founders of this country, many of whom owned slaves, and in the Constitution — the original one — they didn’t want, they put slavery in there, that slavery should be abolished because it was the way the king wanted. And then the Congress said, ‘No way!'”

Lemon also said He was “admittedly” not perfect, implying Jesus Himself said He was not perfect while he was man. According to the Second Vatican Council, however, he was “born of the Virgin Mary, He has truly been made one of us, like us in all things except sin.”

  1. Mr Don Lemon, stop contradicting yourself. Such an insult on Jesus Christ would not lead you anywhere. You thought you had made a ‘smart point’ but you ended up showing brazen hollowness. Just focus on your TV journalism, if that is your profession.
