According to a new poll, 63% of German Catholics don’t like the Church’s teaching on abortion.
The poll, conducted by the opinion research institute INSA Consultante on behalf of the German Catholic newspaper Die Tagespost asked participants this whether “it is good that the Pope and the Church are against abortion.”
They surveyed 2,099 adults from July 5th to August 8th.
14% didn’t know what their position was and 10% declined to answer, leaving just 13% of German Catholics that support the Church’s teaching on abortion.
Among Protestants, 67% do not support the Church’s teaching on abortion and just 13% do.
The Church teaches abortion is a grave sin contrary to moral law:
“Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law.” Catechism of Chuch 2271
Public opinion can not change the laws of the church any more than we can change what Jesus said.
Amen to that!
Oh they there 13%!
They can join any of the culturally accommodating Protestant sects, any time.
