2335 Each of the two sexes is an image of the power and tenderness of God, with equal dignity though in a different way. the union of man and woman in marriage is a way of imitating in the flesh the Creator’s generosity and fecundity: “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.” All human generations proceed from this union.

  1. No; It simply means that the one cannot live one’s whole life with one’s parents alone. The union of husband and wife is an important part of life and helps us grow spiritually to love greater than before God.

  2. So is this the reason that same sex marriage is not “accepted” by the Catholic faith? I am a firm believer and follower of Christ, but when my friends ask me why Catholics are against same sex marriage, I stumble for words and sources…
