Along with physical therapy, rest, and mobility aids he recently received knee injections. Pope Francis has other ideas for his preferred “medicine” though.
As he drove around Saint Peter’s Square after his Wednesday general audience, a religious member of the Legionaries of Christ asked him about his health.
“Pope Francis, how are you doing on your knee?”
At first, he called his knee pain “very capricious.”
Recognizing their Mexican accident, Pope Francis joked with them: “Do you know what I need for my leg? A little tequila!”
Watch the humorous moment:
¿Cómo sigue @Pontifex_es de su rodilla y qué necesita para mejorarse? Lo dice él mismo a unos religiosos legionarios de Cristo -con un poco de humor-: necesita un… ¡tequila! pic.twitter.com/F6FuYjv9ew

As he drove away smiling, he promised them: “If one day we go to Santa Marta we will take you a little bottle.”
Wishing the Holy Father good health.
