The Marian month of prayer to end coronavirus is an initiative organized by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization with the theme of “the whole Church was fervently praying to God,” referencing the Book of Acts (12:5).

“The initiative will involve all the Shrines of the world in a special way, so that they might encourage the faithful, families, and communities to recite the Rosary to pray for an end to the pandemic.”

The initiative, supported by Pope Francis, involves 30 Marian shrines from around the world with the intentions of ending the pandemic.

Pope Francis will open the Marian month of prayer on May 1st with a livestreamed Rosary, and each day thereafter at 6 PM Rome time a Rosary will be livestreamed from the Shines taking part in the initiative.

Pope Francis will close the month of prayer on May 31st with another specially livestreamed Rosary.
