President Biden is expected to make his first official visit to the Vatican on October 29th.
According to CNA, the Prefecture for the Papal Household and the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See have already begun prepping for the meeting. Truck loads of equipment and other items for the diplomatic occasion are reportedly already on their way to Rome.
The White House announced an official meeting with the French President at the end of October, but no official word has been given yet for the meeting with the Pope. The Holy See typically waits until the head of state makes their own announcement to confirm a visit.
Biden last visited the Vatican in 2016 for a regenerative medicine summit, and before that had his first meeting with Pope Francis at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
