On Monday, Pope Francis had an audience with members of a French Christian-Jewish organization dedicated to interreligious dialogue.

In his address, Pope Francis celebrated the 75th anniversary of Amitié Judeo-Chrétienne de France‘s founding, the importance of their work, and antisemitism.

The organization was founded by Jewish historian Jules Isaac who “played a leading role in the rapprochement between Jews and Christians after the tragedy of the Second World War” and contributed to Nostra Aetate.

He thanked them “for this work you have carried out tirelessly for seventy years” to “help Jews and Christians to grow in mutual knowledge, understanding, respect and friendship.”

In highlighting the importance of their work, he explained their “task is not complete” because of “the worrying reappearance of anti-Semitism, in particular in Europe, as well as violence against Christians.”

Ending the address, Pope Francis reassured them of his “support for your initiatives, and for those of all people, Jews and Christians together, who strive for ever-greater fraternity.”

“I pray that your work and your commitment may bear abundant and lasting fruits. I invoke the Lord’s blessing on you and I ask you, please, to pray for me. Thank you!”

🙏 Pray for the Pope’s intentions!

  1. When hordes of angry Muslims are allowed into Europe, what were they expecting? Love and gratitude towards Christians and Jews? This is a Frankenstein’s monster they themselves created.

  2. Very interesting topic to discuss since the resurgence of antisemitism in Europe is spreading violence against the religion. I would love to develop my college paper on this topic, and I usually get samples online. You can read at https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-examples/self-awareness/ more information on the most discussed issues over the world. It is always easier to support interreligious dialogue when you are a well-prepared.
