Pope Francis shared his monthly prayer intention video for November, that interreligious dialogue and peace may reign in the Middle East.

Pope Francis’ Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed “The Pope Video” initiative in 2016 as a way to spread the Holy Father’s monthly prayer intentions on the challenges humanity faces in a video based format.

For the month of November, Pope Francis shared his prayer intention: “Let us pray that a spirit of dialogue, encounter, and reconciliation emerge in the Middle East.”

Accompanied with the Holy Father’s intention is a prayer for the Middle East:

“Lord Jesus,
you have come to us and you have chosen a specific land
where you have shown everyone who you are,
revealing the Father’s love for all his children.
We pray for all those who live the drama of war, division and persecution
and are discriminated against because of their faith
in the Promised Land and in the countries where your Apostles announced the Gospel for the first time.
May your Spirit touch the hearts
of those who are capable of making the big decisions,
to advance the path of dialogue and peace.
Our Father…”

In the Middle East, concord and dialogue among the three monotheistic religions is based on spiritual and historic bonds.

The Good News of Jesus, risen out of love, came to us from these lands.

Today, many Christian communities, together with Jewish and Muslim communities, work here for peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness.

Let us pray that a spirit of dialogue, encounter, and reconciliation emerge in the Middle East.
