Pope Francis shared his monthly prayer intention video for February, that the world recognizes injustices against migrants.
Pope Francis’ Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed “The Pope Video” initiative in 2016 as a way to spread the Holy Father’s monthly prayer intentions on the challenges humanity faces in a video based format.
For the month of February, Pope Francis shared his prayer intention that “the cries of our migrant brothers and sisters, victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking, may be heard and heeded.”
Pope Francis has accompanied his video with an official prayer so you can pray for his monthly intention:
“Lord Jesus Christ,
You who were a guest and a pilgrim in our midst.
You who ran away from violence,
looking for a safe refuge in Egypt.
Give us the grace to recognize you
in the faces of our brothers and sisters
forced to leave their homelands because of war
and the injustice of poverty and violence.
May your Holy Spirit touch our hearts and ears
so that we are not indifferent to the cry of these brothers and sisters of ours,
victims of criminal trafficking.
Convert the hearts of those who bring so much damage
to our brothers and sisters.
Accompanied with the Holy Father’s intention are his proposals for the month of February:
- Start or continue to collaborate with institutions that welcome migrants and their families, through donations, volunteering, sharing these initiatives on social networks, etc.
- Promote around you a positive and compassionate attitude towards migrants who are fleeing their homelands in search of peace and the opportunities of life, and who are victims of trafficking, understanding their sufferings, joining you from our hearts and promoting their good.
- Seek ways to sensitize your community or parish about the situations of exploitation and trafficking that so many migrants are victims of, in order to facilitate, in this way, action at the social and political level to fight this evil.

“Migrants are often victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking.
Among other causes, this happens because of corruption on the part of people willing to do anything for financial gain.
The money from their dirty, underhanded business is blood money. I’m not exaggerating: it’s blood money.
We pray that the cries of our migrant brothers and sisters, victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking, may be heard and heeded.”
