Pope Francis shared his monthly prayer intention video for June, urging the Faithful to pray for families.
Pope Francis’ Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed “The Pope Video” initiative in 2016 as a way to spread the Holy Father’s monthly prayer intentions on the challenges humanity faces in a video based format.
For the month of June, Pope Francis shared his prayer intention that “all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus.”
Pope Francis has accompanied his video with an official prayer so you can pray for his monthly intention:
we thank you for the example of the family
in which your Son Jesus was born and raised.
You wanted him to be among us.
and to learn what love and service is
from the gestures and words of Mary and Joseph.
In these difficult times in which we live,
and in a world that has changed so much,
we ask you
to bless all families,
particularly those who suffer most
from the consequences of this pandemic.
Let everyone know how to find on their way
open hearts available to accompany them,
to help and to care, with love and advice.
Accompanied with the Holy Father’s intention are his proposals for the month of July:
- In your family, those with whom you live every day, look for a moment to share, in a prayerful environment, where each person expresses how they feel, what they have learned in recent times, where they have felt that they have grown more and where they have to improve or ask for forgiveness..
- In your wider family, or with friends, try to express yourself on how you are doing, what are their greatest difficulties, economic, relationships, in seeking meaning.. Make yourself close and present, giving advice if needed and helping from within your possibilities.
- Promote, in your own community or through social networks, good proposals for prayer and reflection that help families live with hope and meaning, or to serve families most in need..

The family ought to be protected.
It faces many dangers: the fast pace of life, stress…
Sometimes, parents forget to play with their children.
The Church needs to encourage families and stay at their side, helping them to discover ways that allow them to overcome all of these difficulties.
Let us pray that today’s families may be accompanied with love, respect and guidance, and especially, that they may be protected by the State.
