What Does Pope Francis Pray At Bedtime?

What bedtime prayers does Pope Francis say? In his last general audience before the summer break, the Pontiff revealed a personal detail of his prayer life.

He said “At night, before going to sleep I pray this short prayer: ‘Lord, if you want, you can purify me.’ And I pray five Our Fathers; one for each one of Jesus’ gashes because Jesus has cleansed us with His sores. This is what I do, you can do this as well in your home and say, ‘Lord, if you want, you can purify and clean me; and think of the wounds of Jesus and say the Our Father for each one and Jesus will always listen to us.”

  1. I always thought that the Holy Rosary had 5 decades, 5 Our Fathers and 50 Hail Marys, the 5 Our Fathers represent the 5 wounds of our Lord and the 50 Hail Marys represent the scourging at the pillar. Pray the Rosary every day, it is the weapon for these times
