God’s grace is so good for us 🙌

On this episode of The Catholic Talk Show, Ryan Scheel and Ryan DellaCrosse join Fr. Mac Hill to discuss his powerful conversion and discernment to the priesthood. His story shows the amazing ways God can intervene in our lives! Here are three takeaways from his incredible journey:

1. A Single Moment of Grace Can Radically Change Your Life
Fr. Mac Hill tells that in freshman year of college, he woke up in a wrecked truck on the side of the interstate after a night of partying. A sobering moment in a jail cell made him realize “God, I don’t want to live like this anymore. I want to live for you, whatever that’s supposed to look like.” This vulnerability and honesty was when he began to seek a deeper relationship with God and ultimately discern his call to the priesthood.

2. Daily Prayer and Sacramental Life Is So Important
After his conversion, frequent prayer and participation in the sacraments became the foundation of his new life in Christ. He began attending Mass and reading Scripture more often. “Every time I opened the Bible, I felt like God was speaking right to me,” he recalls. This helped him to fully surrender to God’s Will for his life.

3. Share Your Faith, Even in Unexpected Places
At St. Augustine’s Cathedral, they now host events like “Night Fire,” where they invite passersby to come into the church, pray and light a candle. Fr. Mac says passionately sharing the faith with others in ways like this can lead to profound spiritual experiences.

“I’m telling you, we get people of all ages, backgrounds, all walks of life, other religions and everything. We had one guy come in with a tight white T-shirt, all muscled out, tatted up… he was in the church just weeping for like two hours, and ended up having a whole conversion experience.”

How amazing!
