This is the life-changing truth about your worth in God’s eyes! 🙌

In this episode of The Catholic Gentleman, John Heinen, Devin Schadt and Sam Guzman discuss what Catholics end up wishing they had learned in their youth. Whether you’re just seeking guidance or looking to course-correct, they explain how to navigate life’s challenges with faith and purpose!

Your Identity is in Christ, Not in Your Achievements
One of the biggest lies today is that our worth is tied to success or other’s approval. At Jesus’ baptism, He had not yet performed any miracles, preached to crowds or called His disciples. Yet, God declared His love for Him—not because of what He had done, but because He was His Son. “God is not your boss, calculating your good decisions against your bad ones. He is a loving Father who delights in you simply because you are His,” John explains.

Relationships Matter More Than Success
Society prioritizes work at the cost of relationships, especially family. Sam explains “the vast majority of happiness comes from the quality of your relationships, but so many people ignore this and wake up with regret.” We might be tempted to believe work defines us, but don’t forget to also invest in your marriage, children and friendships. Devin explains “at the end of life, no man ever says, ‘I wish I spent more time at the office.”

Strength is Found in Sacrificial Love
Does strength mean being self-sufficient, independent and in control? Devin explains in reality, it’s measured in generosity, humility and the willingness to put others before yourself. “You go down to your children by entering into their world. You go to your spouse’s level to enter into their emotions. And by going down, suddenly you get this vision of what’s up.” When we give freely—through time, patience or acts of service—we can reflect the love of Christ.

The gentlemen say that whether you’re 20, 40 or 60+, it’s never too late to embrace your identity in Christ, invest in your relationships and love with the self-giving heart of Jesus!

Let us pray as sons and daughters of God! 🙏
