1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
(1) Finally then, brothers, we beg and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more and more. (2) For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. (3) For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, (4) that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, (5) not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God; (6) that no one should take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this matter; because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified. (7) For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification. (8) Therefore he who rejects this doesn’t reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you.

Psalms 97:1-2,5-6,10-12
(1) Yahweh reigns! Let the earth rejoice! Let the multitude of islands be glad! (2) Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. (5) The mountains melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. (6) The heavens declare his righteousness. All the peoples have seen his glory. (10) You who love Yahweh, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. (11) Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. (12) Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous people! Give thanks to his holy Name.

Matthew 25:1-13
(1) “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom. (2) Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. (3) Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, (4) but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (5) Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. (6) But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’ (7) Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. (8) The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ (9) But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ (10) While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. (11) Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’ (12) But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ (13) Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
