2 Timothy 4:1-8
(1) I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom: (2) preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching. (3) For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; (4) and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables. (5) But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. (6) For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come. (7) I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. (8) From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
Psalms 71:8-9,14-17,22
(8) My mouth shall be filled with your praise, with your honor all day long. (9) Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails. (14) But I will always hope, and will add to all of your praise. (15) My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure. (16) I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh. I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone. (17) God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works. (22) I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God. I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
Luke 2:41-51
(41) His parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover. (42) When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast, (43) and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn’t know it, (44) but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances. (45) When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him. (46) After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them, and asking them questions. (47) All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. (48) When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.” (49) He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (50) They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them. (51) And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
