Titus 1:1-9
Psalms 24:1-6
Luke 17:1-6
Titus 1:1-9
(1) Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, (2) in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began; (3) but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior; (4) to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. (5) I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you; (6) if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior. (7) For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain; (8) but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled; (9) holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
Psalms 24:1-6
(1) The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein. (2) For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods. (3) Who may ascend to Yahweh’s hill? Who may stand in his holy place? (4) He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully. (5) He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh, righteousness from the God of his salvation. (6) This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face—even Jacob. Selah.
Luke 17:1-6
(1) He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come! (2) It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. (3) Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. (4) If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” (5) The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” (6) The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
