There are numerous resources that help Catholics explore the truth, beauty and goodness of their faith. But how many are both fun and informative?

Produced by Family Theater Productions in Hollywood, CATHOLIC CENTRAL is a video series that explores various aspects of Church doctrine, culture and history in short, theologically sound, humorous episodes, suitable for middle-schoolers to adults.

“When young people wonder about a topic, where do they go? YouTube. So we created CATHOLIC CENTRAL, a place on the Internet for people wanting to know more about the beliefs, spirituality and practices of Catholics,” said Family Theater Productions National Director Reverend David Guffey, C.S.C.

New episodes of CATHOLIC CENTRAL are available now on such topics as the Nativity, Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. They also feature two hosts in addition to fan favorites Kai and Libby: Gabby Estey and Nick Vicinanzo.

Originally from Sacramento, California, Estey came to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, seeking an acting career. Vicinanzo, a New Hampshire native, attended Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has acted professionally in New York and Rhode Island and is a cradle Catholic from a large family of ten boys and two girls.

Nick and Gabby join hosts Kai and Libby in presenting the fun, short (about six minutes) videos on the Catholic faith that catechists and religious education students love equally, not to mention OCIA (formerly RCIA) adults who are learning about their new religion. The videos are also great for families to watch, in order to learn and grow in the Faith together. Both Los Angeles and New York have featured CATHOLIC CENTRAL on their archdiocesan websites as catechetical resources.

“The catechetical videos from CATHOLIC CENTRAL are just what I was looking for in my high-school Theology classes! They have been a valuable teaching tool in introducing new material and reinforcing it in an accurate, entertaining way that gets the attention of the students,” said Sister Immaculata, O.C.D., a Catholic high-school theology teacher in Miami, Florida.
