Pope Francis shared his monthly prayer intention video for October, urging the faithful to pray for a shared mission by all Christians.
Pope Francis’ Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed “The Pope Video” initiative in 2016 as a way to spread the Holy Father’s monthly prayer intentions on the challenges humanity faces in a video based format.

“All Christians are responsible for the mission of the Church.
All priests are not the bosses of the laity but their shepherds. Jesus has called both some and others—not some above others, nor some on one side and others on the other, but complementing each other on the path of synodality.
Of course, you might ask me, “What can I do—a bus driver, a peasant woman, or a fisherman?”
What we all have to do is bear witness with our lives and take co-responsibility for the mission of the Church. The laity, the baptized, are in the Church, in their own home, and they have to take care of it just as we priests and the consecrated do, each contributing what we know best. We are co-responsible for the mission; we participate and live in the communion of the Church.
Let us pray that the Church continues to support by all means a synodal way of life under the sign of co-responsibility, promoting participation, communion, and the shared mission among priests, religious, and laity.”
