Isaiah 6:1-8
(1) In the year in which king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, sublime and exalted, and the things that were under him filled the temple. (2) The Seraphim were standing above the throne. One had six wings, and the other had six wings: with two they were covering his face, and with two they were covering his feet, and with two they were flying. (3) And they were crying out to one another, and saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory!” (4) And the lintels above the hinges were shaken at the voice of the one crying out. And the house was filled with smoke. (5) And I said: “Woe to me! For I have remained silent. For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live in the midst of a people having unclean lips, and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts!” (6) And one of the Seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a burning coal, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. (7) And he touched my mouth, and he said, “Behold, this has touched your lips, and so your iniquities will be taken away, and your sin will be cleansed.” (8) And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send?” and, “Who will go for us?” And I said: “Here I am. Send me.”
Psalm 93:1-2, 5
(1) The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. In the time before the Sabbath, when the earth was founded. (1) The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. In the time before the Sabbath, when the earth was founded. (2) The Lord has reigned. He has been clothed with beauty. (5) The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods have lifted up their waves,
Matthew 10:24-33
(24) The disciple is not above the teacher, nor is the servant above his master. (25) It is sufficient for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant, like his master. If they have called the Father of the family, ‘Beelzebub,’ how much more those of his household? (26) Therefore, do not fear them. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known. (27) What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light. And what you hear whispered in the ear, preach above the rooftops. (28) And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But instead fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. (29) Are not two sparrows sold for one small coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father. (30) For even the hairs of your head have all been numbered. (31) Therefore, do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows. (32) Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father, who is in heaven. (33) But whoever will have denied me before men, I also will deny before my Father, who is in heaven.
