(1) When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless. (9) God said to Abraham, “As for you, you will keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. (10) This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you. Every male among you shall be circumcised. (15) God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but her name will be Sarah. (16) I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she will be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her.” (17) Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, “Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?” (18) Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!” (19) God said, “No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him. (20) As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. (21) But my covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year.” (22) When he finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
Psalms 128:1-5
(1) Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways. (2) For you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be happy, and it will be well with you. (3) Your wife will be as a fruitful vine, in the innermost parts of your house; your children like olive plants, around your table. (4) Behold, thus is the man blessed who fears Yahweh. (5) May Yahweh bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
Matthew 8:1-4
(1) When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. (2) Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” (3) Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (4) Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
