1 Thessalonians 5:1-6,9-11
(1) But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you. (2) For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night. (3) For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape. (4) But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief. (5) You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness, (6) so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober. (9) For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, (10) who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. (11) Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

Psalms 27:1,4,13-14
(1) Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? (4) One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. (13) I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. (14) Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

Luke 4:31-37
(31) He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day, (32) and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority. (33) In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, (34) saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!” (35) Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no harm. (36) Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!” (37) News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
