Acts 9:31-42
(31) So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. (32) As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. (33) There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed. (34) Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose. (35) All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. (36) Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did. (37) In those days, she became sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. (38) As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. (39) Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. (40) Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. (41) He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. (42) And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

Psalms 116:12-17
(12) What will I give to Yahweh for all his benefits toward me? (13) I will take the cup of salvation, and call on Yahweh’s name. (14) I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people. (15) Precious in Yahweh’s sight is the death of his saints. (16) Yahweh, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant. You have freed me from my chains. (17) I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Yahweh’s name.

John 6:60-69
(60) Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?” (61) But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble? (62) Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? (63) It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life. (64) But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him. (65) He said, “For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.” (66) At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. (67) Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?” (68) Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. (69) We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
