The Rosary has long been considered by the Church to be a powerful tool against evil. “The Rosary is more than 50 beads of mindless repetition. It holds within it the very power of God, the power of the entire Gospel,” Mark says.
As a spiritual weapon, the Rosary is rooted in deep contemplation of the life, death and resurrection of Christ. “One, it’s a weapon of intercession where we literally fight and bind the evil one. Second, its contemplative side, in essence, is the reason for the power,” Mark explains. By meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, we begin to equip ourselves to combat spiritual darkness we face in our lives.
Great saints throughout history have also consistently recognized the Rosary as crucial for battling Satan and sin. “When you pray the rosary daily, you go through His entire life—you go through all of salvation history every week… You go through His birth, you go through Our Lady’s ‘yes,’” just like the saints did, Mark says.
By offering the Rosary for loved ones, we have the opportunity to extend that immense spiritual benefit to them. Mark says he is ”more and more convicted that I need to provide the spiritual armor—I need to provide the protection.”
The gentlemen say offering each decade of your next Rosary for specific loved ones or intentions is a great way to get started!
