Pope Francis had a private audience with Father James Martin, SJ in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace on Friday.

Afterwards, Martin tweeted about the meeting he was “deeply grateful” for and explained what they talked about.

The Vatican made no comment on the meeting, their second.

When they first met in 2019, Martin said he shared with Pope Francis the “joys and hopes, and the griefs and anxieties, of LGBT Catholics and LGBT people worldwide.” He didn’t reveal what the Holy Father said to him, except that they “both laughed several times.”

  1. I found the meeting between Pope Francis and James Martin to be quite profound, especially considering the ongoing discussions about inclusion within the Church. It reminded me of my own journey of grappling with faith and acceptance in a diverse world. Growing up, I often felt torn between tradition and the evolving understanding of love and community. This encounter seems to open doors for conversations that can help heal divisions, which is something we desperately need today. It’s enlightening to see such dialogue take place at such high geometry dash lite levels; perhaps it paves the way for a more compassionate future.
