“O God, be merciful to me, a sinner” (Luke 18:13). These words, spoken from the heart of the tax collector were enough to make Jesus say, “I tell you, the latter went home justified…” Pope Francis has called a Jubilee Year of Mercy to keep our gaze on the Father’s mercy and to deepen our conviction that He never, never, absolutely never rejects a sinner who turns to Him and asks for mercy. In fact, His arms are already open, awaiting us. Like the father of the Prodigal Son, our Heavenly Father is watching for us, so that He already sees us from a distance and runs to us when we make the slightest gesture of turning to Him.
“Come, let us return to the Lord; it is he who has rent, but he will heal us…” (Hosea 6:1). Our hearts have been wounded by disappointment, failure, rejection, betrayal, but God’s healing power through His merciful love is everlasting. One of my great joys as a priest is also administering the mercy of God in the Confessional. God’s mercy and love are freely available in the Confessional. Opening our hearts to the power of that Sacrament can be life changing. I personally go to Confession every two or three weeks. It is a staple for a healthy spiritual life.

please heal my eyes as I have glaucoma and have serious eye operation coming up on the 3/17 and also me hearing is going bad. praying also for the souls un purgatory including that of my family. please remove th the evil causing so much problems around me on a daily basis
Just know my friend that today I am praying for your heartfelt request in the guidance of your eye surgeon by the Great Healer Jesus Christ, help for your hearing, and we must always include the souls in purgatory to find their way to everlasting peace. And know that we all are surrounded by the evil that exists, but, although we may lose a battle sometimes, the bible tells us that in the end, our mighty God and those who believe, will win the war! May the Virgin Mary hold you in her arms and comfort you this day……peace to you.
