On June 24, Pope Francis held a private audience with Monsignor Gilles Wach, Prior General of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP), to mark the 45th anniversary of his priestly ordination by Saint John Paul II.

The meeting was an opportunity for the ICKSP leaders to thank Pope Francis for his Apostolic Letter, “Totum amoris est,” dedicated to their patron, Saint Francis de Sales.

During the audience, Monsignor Wach presented the pastoral work conducted by the Institute’s priests worldwide, serving the faithful in various communities.

Pope Francis emphasized the importance of the Institute continuing its unique charism, noting the “spirit of unity and communion which the harmony and balance of the Salesian spirituality allow,” according to the ICKSP. He also expressed his gratitude for the prayers and missionary efforts of the Sister Adorers, affiliated with the Institute.

Showing his appreciation for their dedication to the Church, Pope Francis invited Monsignor Wach to return for another audience, this time with all members of the Institute and the Sister Adorers.
