The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has announced the theme for the 2024 National Family Planning (NFP) Awareness Week:

“Love beyond measure, natural family planning, supporting God’s gifts of love and life in marriage.”

NFP Awareness Week is a campaign to celebrate God’s design for married love and the gift of life. It aims to raise awareness about NFP methods.

According to the USCCB, NFP methods are consistent with Catholic teaching and allow couples to understand and recognize signs of fertility and infertility. NFP “respects the God-given power to love a new human life into being,” a press release said.

The USCCB encourages activities such as Eucharistic Adoration, Rosaries, and professional talks to spread awareness and educate communities about NFP.

The timing of NFP Awareness Week also highlights the teachings of Humanae Vitae, which articulates Church teaching about human sexuality, conjugal love, and responsible parenthood.

The week’s events aim to promote these values and support married couples in living out their vocations through Natural Family Planning.

This year’s NFP Week is taking place from July 21-27, coinciding with the anniversary of Pope St. Paul VI’s encyclical Humanae Vitae on July 25 and the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne on July 26.
