Hebrews 2:5-12

Mark 1:21-28

Hebrews 2:5-12
(5) For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels. (6) But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him? (7) You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor. (8) You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet. (9) But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone. (10) For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. (11) For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers, (12) saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among of the congregation I will sing your praise.”

Psalms 8:2,5-9
(2) From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger. (5) For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. (6) You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet: (7) All sheep and cattle, yes, and the animals of the field, (8) The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas. (9) Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Mark 1:21-28
(21) They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught. (22) They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes. (23) Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, (24) saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!” (25) Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” (26) The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. (27) They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!” (28) The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
