2 Corinthians 1:1-7
(1) Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia: (2) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; (4) who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (5) For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ. (6) But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer. (7) Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.

Psalms 34:2-9
(2) My soul shall boast in Yahweh. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad. (3) Oh magnify Yahweh with me. Let us exalt his name together. (4) I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. (5) They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame. (6) This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. (7) Yahweh’s angel encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. (8) Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. (9) Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him.

Matthew 5:1-12
(1) Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him. (2) He opened his mouth and taught them, saying, (3) “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. (4) Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (5) Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. (6) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. (7) Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. (8) Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. (9) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. (10) Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. (11) “Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (12) Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
