Saint Scholastica (480-543), sister of St. Benedict, consecrated her life to God from her earliest youth. After her brother went to Monte Cassino, where he established his famous monastery, she took up her abode in the neighborhood at Plombariola, where she founded and governed a monastery of nuns, about five miles from that of St. Benedict, who, it appears, also directed his sister and her nuns.
She visited her brother once a year, and as she was not allowed to enter his monastery, he went in company with some of his brethren to meet her at a house some distance away. These visits were spent in conferring together on spiritual matters.
On one occasion they had passed the time as usual in prayer and pious conversation and in the evening they sat down to take their reflection. St. Scholastica begged her brother to remain until the next day. St. Benedict refused to spend the night outside his monastery. She had recourse to prayer and a furious thunderstorm burst so that neither St. Benedict nor any of his companions could return home. They spent the night in spiritual conferences. The next morning they parted to meet no more on earth.
Three days later St. Scholastica died, and her holy brother beheld her soul in a vision as it ascended into heaven. He sent his brethren to bring her body to his monastery and laid it in the tomb he had prepared for himself. She died about the year 543, and St. Benedict followed her soon after. Her feast day is February 10th.

O God, to show us where innocence leads, you made the soul of your virgin Saint Scholastica soar to heaven like a dove in flight. Grant through her merits and her prayers that we may so live in innocence as to attain to joys everlasting. This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.
Please remove the vulgar comment left by a very sick and tormented person. He needs prayer!!!
St. Scholastica, pray for all religious nuns.

YOUR TIME WAS SHORT BUT YOUR

HOW BEAUTIFULLY YOUR FAMILY WAS TOUCHED BY GOD!
Saint Scholastica and Saint Benedict, pray for us. Bless my twin sons with confidence in the Cross and Its infinite mercy. Help them resist the evil one, the deception/lies and temptation/corruption/cruelty. Keep them free of pride, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, profanity, blasphemy, idolotry, fraud, etc. Keep humility in their hearts to fortify their lives against all ills. Grant Faith, Hope, Charity to both for the Glory of Heaven. Relieve the world of wars, famine, plagues, infectious diseases, according to Our Lady’s prophecies. Help us make reparation with fasting for offences against the most Sacred Heart. In the Name of God the Father, and of God the Son, and of God the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Scanning her life story once more, it brought an endearing chuckle to see the date of Saint Scholastica’s feastday, in unity with the supposed year of her death, as; 543-2-10. The year 543, the 2nd month, the tenth day. Remarkable cohesion.
Saint Scholastica, please intercede for the soul of my mother, if she remains with the Church Suffering, that she may soon enjoy the Church Triumphant. Her birthday is February 12th, and since she converted from an Anglican to a Roman Catholic in order to marry my father in the Church, and I do not know which saint name she took for her Confirmation, please embrace her in heaven as your own kin. She had two brothers but no sons. Ask your brother, Saint Benedict, to watch out for my dad, grandad, great grandad, and my sons. Thanks be to God. Amen.
Saints Scholastica and Benedict, pray for us. Ora pro nobis at this volatile time. Intercede for the souls of my mother and father, and assist my twin sons with protection and endurance facing the trials of life. Beg abundant blessings for my daughter and her eldest brother, on this special Feastday. Bring peace to my soul knowing all of my children are well supported by the living and the dead. Sustain me in temporal and spiritual needs, until my final breath is drawn. Amen.
Saint Scholastica and Saint Benedict, pray for the prayers of FHL. Praise be Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Amen.
