Today’s readings are full of God’s promises to us: “Those who follow you, Lord, will have the light of life”, we say in the Responsorial Psalm.

In the Gospel, Christ reminds us that while so many of us do not fully embrace all that He has to offer us; His grace is there, waiting. There are times where we might be tempted to say that we don’t know how to experience a joyful life. Yet, today, God the Father tells us that the way is clear.

In the first reading, He says that He will teach us and lead us on the right path. If we follow His commandments then He will bless us. While life is full of complications and struggles, the road map to fulfillment is quite simple. Turn to the Lord and follow Him.

This Advent season, we have the opportunity to turn, once again, to the wisdom of the Lord for guidance in our lives. Whether it’s Scripture, prayer, attending Mass or finding some great spiritual reading, God is waiting to show you the way that you should go.
