While we are at work, God is the one who acts. He continues to keep the world, and life as we know it, in motion. Whatever hold or false confidence we have in ourselves and to this world, Jesus challenges us from these attachments to truly rely on His loving mercy and providence – that’s the message in today’s first reading: Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; see, I am doing something new! This dependence on God’s power, might, and command in the Old Testament’s is a description of his providential concern and daily care for us. To the degree we honor, allow, and respect his action in our lives we can experience the consolation and joy that comes from his loving presence revealed. To this end, St Paul encourages us to depend on faith in knowing Him and His power to resurrect, restore, and redeem whatever apparent circumstance we might face  Each day straining forward to the goal of being possessed by Christ not in what we can do for ourselves, but in how we allow His grace and mercy to take effect in our lives.

It is good to remember what God wants to do for us and where he wants to lead us. Christ is the face of the Father’s mercy. Jesus is leading us to the fullness life in Him, taking away the obstacles and reconciling us to himself. This is why He came to earth, and why His mercy seeks out each one of us. We can misjudge mercy when we judge it from the outside. It can only truly be understood from experiencing the restoration of dignity and elevation of oneself as a son and daughter of God from within one’s own heart. His mercy is out of love not of Lordship. He knows what is in our hearts and minds. Saying to her but speaking to the Scribes and Pharisees “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”…Neither do I condemn you.” Jesus reveals His heart. How do we receive this mercy, His very heart?  At times poorly, at other times well, and often somewhere in between. Allowing His mercy to take effect in our lives is essential to our maturing in faith and spiritual growth in this Lenten season.

Today, let us hear Jesus’ words touch our hearts, Go, and from now on do not sin any more” allowing his mercy to make all things new!

    • Shirley I am sending a prayer over you. I know the pains and sorrow and suffering of depression. I have bipolar disorder 1 also known as manic depression and I have been so low at times I didn’t think I could breathe for another hour and I too ask God to bring me home. I would like you to know that there is hope and Hope can be found in the darkest of places and so is God’s mercy and Grace. Whatever troubles you are having I pray that God send his angels to comfort you and to uplift you I hope your medical providers can provide some relief so that you do not have to feel that you are not loved or not connected to the body of Christ. Even though you may be in a very dark time right now I want you to believe that God Jesus is holding your hand and I know that he has plans to prosper you and give you hope. I hope and pray that you have the courage to seek out healing from medical providers and talk to someone who can help ease the pain that you are experiencing. You can overcome this remember with God all things are possible it does not say some things it says all things. Hold tight to Jesus and focus on the fact that there is hope I pray for you today to find a moment to feel uplifted in the name of Jesus Amen

  2. My dear, dear Shirley, please consider praying hard and find a good priest. Also, consider taking a tablet and write, count all of your blessings.
