1 Kings 19:9,11-13
(9) He came to a cave there, and camped there; and behold, Yahweh’s word came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (11) He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.” Behold, Yahweh passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake. (12) After the earthquake a fire passed; but Yahweh was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a still small voice. (13) When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Psalms 85:8-13
(8) I will hear what God, Yahweh, will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, his saints; but let them not turn again to folly. (9) Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. (10) Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (11) Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven. (12) Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase. (13) Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps.

Romans 9:1-5
(1) I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit, (2) that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. (3) For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh, (4) who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises; (5) of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.

Matthew 14:22-33
(22) Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. (23) After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone. (24) But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. (25) In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. (26) When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear. (27) But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.” (28) Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.” (29) He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. (30) But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” (31) Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (32) When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased. (33) Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
