982 There is no offense, however serious, that the Church cannot forgive. “There is no one, however wicked and guilty, who may not confidently hope for forgiveness, provided his repentance is honest. Christ who died for all men desires that in his Church the gates of forgiveness should always be open to anyone who turns away from sin.

  1. This is true…there is not a sin that humans can commit that God will not forgive. As long as one is truly sorry and honest. However, Jesus gave us a procedure to obtain forgiveness…that is by confessing our sins to a priest, Jesus gave his apostles the power to forgive sins in His name…whose sins you forgive they are forgiven..whose sins you retain..they are retained. Doing something bad and then just saying to God forgive me..and expect that sin to be forgiven is not the way it works. It is a beginning.
